It’s National Tequila Day (7/24/20) and it’s Friday, it’s time to enjoy a good Margarita! Our friend’s Steve & Laurie make an amazing Margarita, I call them Marvel Margaritas. I not only “marvel” at their margarita skills, I marvel at them, two of the kindest, funniest, hard working people I know.
Our friendship goes back many years and just like a good margarita recipe you never want to lose track of a good friendship. I hope you reach out to a good friend today and enjoy a picture today – wait I mean a pitcher but don’t forget to take a good picture as well!
Cheers!
-Angie
Marvel Margaritas
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
5 cups tequila (I like Jose Cuervo & there is a good country song that mentions it)
3/4 cup orange liquor (like Cointreau)
1 & 2/3 cup lime juice (fresh or forget it for this one)
Makes about 8 cups (that’s a lot of fun!)
- Make your simple syrup by combining sugar and water in a pot. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour into a bowl and let cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Juice your limes while you are waiting. Roll them on the counter to release more juice. Slice off each end, there is a lot of juice in the ends of citrus. Use a juicer if you have one, if not your other hand works great as a strainer for catching the seeds.
- Rim your glasses by rubbing a lime slice around them and dipping in salt. Or you can serve naked with no salt-just to clarify the glass is naked 😉
- Stir everything together and all together and serve over ice.
