Drinks Holidays Party

Marvel Margaritas!

It’s National Tequila Day (7/24/20) and it’s Friday, it’s time to enjoy a good Margarita!  Our friend’s Steve & Laurie make an amazing Margarita, I call them Marvel Margaritas.  I not only “marvel” at their margarita skills, I marvel at them, two of the kindest, funniest, hard working people I know.

Our friendship goes back many years and just like a good margarita recipe you never want to lose track of a good friendship.  I hope you reach out to a good friend today and enjoy a picture today – wait I mean a pitcher but don’t forget to take a good picture as well!

Cheers!

Marvel Margaritas

2 cups sugar

2 cups water

5 cups tequila (I like Jose Cuervo & there is a good country song that mentions it)

3/4 cup orange liquor (like Cointreau)

1 & 2/3 cup lime juice (fresh or forget it for this one)

Makes about 8 cups (that’s a lot of fun!)

  1. Make your simple syrup by combining sugar and water in a pot.  Bring to a boil and stir until sugar is dissolved.  Pour into a bowl and let cool for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Juice your limes while you are waiting.  Roll them on the counter to release more juice.  Slice off each end, there is a lot of juice in the ends of citrus.  Use a juicer if you have one, if not your other hand works great as a strainer for catching the seeds.
  3. Rim your glasses by rubbing a lime slice around them and dipping in salt.  Or you can serve naked with no salt-just to clarify the glass is naked 😉
  4. Stir everything together and all together and serve over ice.
