8 potatoes, peeled
1/2 stick butter
1 Tbsp nutmeg
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 cup Heavy cream
1/2 cup gruyere cheese, shredded
1 tsp garlic salt
Non stick spray
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Slice potatoes in thin rounds.
- Dice butter and mix in with nutmeg, garlic, heavy cream and salt.
- Spray casserole dish with non stick spray.
- Drizzle spoon of liquid mixture across bottom of dish Add one layer of potato rounds slightly overlapping each other.
- Drizzle spoon of liquid mixture over potatoes and a small handful of shredded cheese. Repeat with potatoes, liquid and cheese until all used up.
- Bake covered for 45 min. Uncover and press down with a spatula. Bake an additional 30 min uncovered.
Let stand for 10 min on counter before cutting.
Tip: an 8×8 or 9×13 pan works best.
