1.5 cups cornmeal
1 cup flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
3 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp BBQ Seasoning
1 egg
1 cup milk
2 Tbsp white vinegar
3 Tbsp honey
Non stick spray
Oil for frying
BBQ Sauce
- Mix dry ingredients in one bowl.
- Mix all wet ingredients in another bowl (except oil of course).
- Make an opening (well) in the dry ingredients and slow whisk in the wet ingredients.
- Refrigerate dough for 1-2 hours.
- Heat oil for frying.
- Spray a small scoop with non-stick spray and scoop out batter into the oil.
- It only takes about 2-3 minutes on each side or total if a full submerge to be golden brown.
- Remove to paper towel lined plate and serve with BBQ sauce.
Tips: If your oil is too hot, quickly add more oil.
