Summer Suppers & Lasting Memories!

Cooking for family is priceless, cooking with family is even better. I am blessed to have many cooking with family stories.

Summer suppers are delicious and even more so when the family gets involved.  On this evening I learned even more about my daughter Brandi and her great cooking skills.  She has always worked hard at all she does and that goes for cooking & baking.  As I am not really a baker she shares that passion with her Dad, Mike who has become quite the baker and she learned a lot from her Aunt Donna.  So knowing she can cook and bake I was extra impressed when she showed off she also had some wicked grilling skills for this meal!  Her Cajun Garlic Shrimp and Grilled Asparagus were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Not always an easy feat for grilling shrimp and delicate veggies.

Our Son-n-law Ryan is also a very good cook and added to our meal with an incredibly flavorful Ginger Couscous.  I thought Pizzas were his only speciality but he has showed us differently!

As Ryan & Brandi whipped up the dinner, our favorite bartender-Mike made refreshing Summer Sangria’s.

Cooking passion runs in our family. My Dad, sister, our son and his family and our grandson Noah who at 3 already knows his way around the kitchen.

Noah and I were in charge of dessert.  He loves to make any kind of cupcake or muffin.  Well for the muffins anything with Chocolate Chips is preferred, the more the merrier as he picks them out one at a time.  I wanted to try Apple Banana Muffins with him but I forgot to buy applesauce.  So we used one of his Applesauce pouches.  My good Grandma rating went down the tubes when we were pouring one of his beloved Applesauce pouch in the batter.  He forgave me quickly as I gave him one of his own.  The muffins turned out good, however next time we will add chocolate chips because why not?  It was also help my Grandma rating!

We had so much fun with this meal as we all contributed and shared a lot of laughs along the way on a nice summer evening.
