Breakfast

Brunch On A Budget

Celebrations can be pricy, especially with the current cost of food. These ideas can help you stretch your dollar a little more.  Another bonus of these ideas they can be made ahead!

Seasonal Fruit

Shop at the front of the store, what is in season?  Also what is local?  It costs to ship it in.  Seasonal and local tastes great and is normally cheaper, think Grapes, Watermelon or Strawberries.

Washing and prepping these the day before and storing in your fridge in a bowl with a paper towel to absorb excess moisture.

Deviled Eggs

Go simple, little egg mixture, little mustard, little mayo, little garlic powder.  Make hard boiled eggs and the filling and store in the fridge the day before.  For the day of fill the eggs and serve.  If you don’t have a piping bag, a spoon works great or a ziplock bag with a hole snipped in it.

Roasted Italian Potatoes

It’s potatoes and Italian dressing roasted, yum and easy!

I love washing and slicing these the day before.  Just store and in a bowl of water in the fridge until ready to drain and roast tossed in Italian Dressing.

Sausage

Buy Italian Sausage links, cook and then slice into bite sized rounds.

We often will partially grill or fry these, let cool, slice, store in fridge and then back in the oven on the day of the event.

French Toast or Pancakes with Terrific Toppings

Offer syrup and 2 or 3 of these terrific toppings; Powdered Sugar, Strawberries, Bananas, Chocolate Chips, Chocolate Syrup, your favorite crunchy cereal…

Can be made one day ahead and reheated in the oven but this one does taste a little better made fresh.

Enjoy!
